There are some important changes to the Taekwondo Classes
Dear Members, Parents & Guardians,
There are some important changes to the Taekwondo Classes as detailed below.
1. Class Times
In order to be able to help people progress, more hall time has been booked during the week and class times have changed slightly - see the new class times below which are effective immediately.
Also, I am reinstating the monthly Mega-Lesson which is a once a month once 2 hour lesson on a Sunday. Suitable for all grades from Orange stripe upwards, timing and venue will be advised by email. This is a little different and the longer time means we can incorporate music, power development breaking, beneficial partner stretching, games, and elements from different martial arts from around the world as well working towards our next belt.
The first double lesson is on Sunday 25th October at 3.00pm -5.00pm, Fownhope New Memorial Hall, Fownhope, Herefordshire. This lesson will be straight before a Grading giving anyone grading a last minute chance to practice. The class will be for everyone though and you do not have to grade.
2. New Family Discount
All family discounts for Taekwondo students remain unchanged but there is now an additional discount for families for 2 people training -see below
3. Black Belt Training with Master Dykes
Regular extra long training seminars with Master Dykes just for Black Belts will commence this month. The First session is on this Saturday at 11.30am -1.00pm at Fownhope New Memorial Hall and replaces the advanced Taekwondo session.
4. Next Coloured Belt Grading
The next Coloured Belt grading is a 5.00pm on Sunday 25th October at Fownhope. A grading application form is attached and these need to be returned with payment by Wednesday 21st October 2015.
5. Membership Fees
Monthly Membership fees have not increased in the last 5 years and i am delighted to confirm that they will remain the same with no increases.
Some students have not changed their fees to the appropriate membership though, my fault in being slow to advise, so a list of the different membership options is attached. if everyone can review and confirm which option they want to go onto.Thank you.
Please bear in mind the minimum class attendance required to be able to grade though which I detail below. General Choi details his minimum training criteria in the encyclopaedia of Taekwondo. i have gone for lower levels but these are a minimum.
Black Belts - Although not compulsory attendance at International level seminars is recommended where possible along with a training regime where skills develop rather than detoriate.
Black Stripes - this is an important level where as a minimum 40 classes should be attended before Black Belt grading Eligibility
Red Belts grading for Black Stripe - minimum 36 classes should be attended before grading
Blue Stripes grading for Red Belt - minimum 32 classes should be attended before grading
Blue Belt grading for Red Stripe - minimum 28 classes should be attended before grading
Blue Stripe grading for Blue Belt - minimum 24 classes should be attended before grading
Green Belt grading for Blue Stripe - minimum 24 classes should be attended before grading
Green Stripe grading for Green Belt - minimum 24 classes should be attended before grading
Yellow Belt Grading for Green Stripe - minimum 18 classes should be attended before grading
Yellow Stripe grading for Yellow Belt - minimum 18 classes should be attended before grading
Orange Stripe grading for Yellow stripe - minimum 12 classes should be attended before grading

5. New Equipment - Power Test Breaking Boards
Board breaking seems very popular so I am ordering 21 new boards and special board holders from the US so everyone gets more turns and less waiting, i do not have a delivery date yet but soon 😊
See you all at the next lesson.
